On this date 20 years ago, a Vocation School was established, paving way for its continuously efforts building “the Tower of Knowledge” named Nguyen Tat Thanh University 20 years afterwards, located near Sai Gon River, where portrayed the historic journey of the Great person and of a University proudly named after the name of Ho Chi Minh at his youth which was given birth by people who have been dedicated to the career of education.
At the anniversary, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung addressed: “the period of 20 years is not a long journey but looking back through all milestones of the development, we are entitled to hold our head high with our significant achievements throughout the history of establishment and development of Nguyen Tat Thanh University accomplished thanks to the dedication and contribution of all leaders, managers, academic staff and students as a whole. We hope the University is able to gain more accomplishments and make great breakthrough years to come in its education career”.

Over the past 20 years, it is not exaggerated to be proud of what the University have been achieved. It initially started with 02 majors, attracting 200 students, but the University now have 44 specializations with over 20,000 students covering 05 areas of training. In 1999, the Vocational School had only 02 classrooms, reaching 67 classrooms in 2002 and up to 500 classrooms now for both theory and practice fully equipped with cutting – edge equipment with the total investment of thousands of billions dong. Its teams of academics have constantly improved their qualification and expertise. Up to now, NTTU has 2,000 full-time and part-time lecturers with 11 Professors, 28 Associate Professors, 155 Doctors, and 670 Masters. Initiating with the purpose of providing workforce for the Garment industry, Nguyen Tat Thanh University is presently applying a multidisciplinary and multi-level education system. With the quality being sceptical by the society from the beginning, NTTU has been accredited for its high training quality by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, and rated QS 3 Stars by QS Intelligence Unit (UK). To accomplish these extraordinary achievements require a convergence of the knowledge, passion, restless creativity, and the belief in ever-lasting values of life from each individual of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
Today’s ceremony served as such a perfect time that founders, board of directors, board of presidents together with all academics can recall the University’s course of development benchmarks since its establishment. On this occasion, the board of directors approved the amount of 5 billion VND as a reward to members of the School for their invaluable contribution and excellent services to the whole remarkable success of Nguyen Tat Thanh University. As part of the program, the Trade Union of the University also received the Emulation Flag from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and awarded both units and individuals of the University for their Outstanding Performance over the past 20 years.
