Back then, I was just a high school student from a rural area, leaving my village school behind to attend university in Ho Chi Minh City. Before me lay a vast, unfamiliar city, while my heart was filled with uncertainty about my chosen field of study. My mother had told me, “This field suits you; you just sit in an office, it’s not strenuous, and your health is weak, so it will be perfect.” I carried with me the absolute faith of my family and my burning desire to pursue my dream of earning a lot of money.

I chose NTTU – Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Human Resource Management major in the Faculty of Business Administration, one of the largest, most dynamic, and most active faculties in District 12.
In my first year, I accomplished things I never thought possible in high school: becoming a class representative, taking photos for my classmates at the faculty’s opening ceremony, and participating in volunteer activities organized by the faculty and the university. My success lies not only in what I did, but also in overcoming my fears and conquering myself to dare to step out of my comfort zone.
In my second year, with a heavier workload, I temporarily put aside some extracurricular activities to focus on my major. It was then that I truly realized that human resources isn’t simply about sitting in an air-conditioned office; it’s about connection – between individuals, and between individuals and organizations. I learned how to manage, how to train people, and, more importantly, how to build a corporate culture. The more I learned, the more interesting things I discovered, and the more motivated I became to delve deeper into my chosen path.

Fortunately, I always received dedicated guidance from my professors in the department, like diligent ferrymen, ready to lead me whenever I felt stuck. Every time I wanted to give up, I reminded myself: “Remember why you started.” And so, I grew more mature and confident. That confidence was further strengthened when my teammates and I won third prize in the 5th Future Managers Competition. The award was not only an achievement but also a great source of motivation, helping me to move forward strongly on the path to conquering my Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management.

Now, as my final year approaches, I know the doors of the lecture halls are about to close, opening a new and challenging journey. However, deep down, I still have a desire to stay, to contribute to the field and the faculty – the place that ignited my passion and nurtured my growth.
And I just want to send a message to all students: Don’t be afraid to stumble, try your best when you have the chance. Because after each endeavor, success, confidence, and strength will come to you – just as I have experienced and am still experiencing.
