International Business students visit TCIT port: Connecting theory with practice

NTTU – Students majoring in International Business, Faculty of Business Administration, Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU), recently had a meaningful field trip to Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Port Company Limited (TCIT). This is one of the most modern deep-water ports in Vietnam, with a capacity of over 2 million TEUs/year, playing a crucial role in international import-export and logistics activities.

During the trip, TCIT representatives gave the students an overview of the port’s scale, operational capacity, and modern operating procedures. Many students were thrilled to see firsthand the giant shore crane system, automated container handling operations, and international cargo ship management processes.

“The tour helped me understand the global supply chain better, from transportation and warehousing to distribution. This will be invaluable preparation for my studies and future career,” shared Nguyen Thi Minh Thu.

Tran Hoang Phuc expressed:  “This is the first time I have witnessed firsthand the operational process of a large-scale international port. I am very impressed with the professionalism and modernity of the system. This gives me more motivation to pursue International Business at NTTU, where the training program always emphasizes connecting theory with practice.”

Students majoring in International Business at NTTU attentively listened to the presentation from the TCIT representative.

Many other students also agree that the International Business program at NTTU offers a dynamic learning environment closely linked to business practices. This is the key factor that helps them confidently integrate into the global job market after graduation.

Beyond providing practical knowledge, the visit also served as a bridge, connecting students’ learned theories with a dynamic international business environment. A representative from the university emphasized that this is an annual activity aimed at providing students with opportunities to gain early exposure to the business environment. This also affirms NTTU’s commitment to practical, applied training.

Students and representatives from NTTU held discussions with TCIT business leaders.

On TCIT’s side, the company’s leaders also highly appreciated the students’ dynamism and eagerness to learn, and expressed their admiration for the students’ eagerness to learn and professional attitude throughout the visit.

The tour concluded, but it opened up many new perspectives and ignited a passion for career aspirations in each student. It also demonstrates the increasingly strong bond between the university and businesses. With a training strategy closely linked to practical experience and global integration, NTTU is affirming its position as one of the prestigious training institutions, providing high-quality human resources for Vietnam’s business and logistics sectors.
