Nguyen Tat Thanh University has added 8 more training programs that have met the accreditation standards of the Ministry of Education and Training

NTTU – According to information from the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, 8 training programs at Nguyen Tat Thanh University have achieved quality accreditation standards according to Circular 04/2016/TT-BGDĐT of the Ministry of Education and Training in the official accreditation period from May 27-30, 2025.

Eight training programs have achieved quality accreditation, including five undergraduate programs: Piano, Public Relations, E-commerce, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Medicine; and three master’s programs: Economic Law, English Language, and Drug and Toxicology Testing. Most programs meet the 11 standards stipulated in Circular 04/2016/TT-BGDĐT, such as: Faculty and researchers; Facilities and equipment; Students and student support activities, etc. The specific achievement rates are as follows:

At the closing ceremony of the official survey, the external evaluation team highly appreciated the realization of the strategic vision and training philosophy that Nguyen Tat Thanh University aims for, as well as the close connection between the university and businesses in organizing teaching. In addition, the team also highly appreciated the internal quality assurance system to ensure the quality of training programs through measuring the achievement of learning outcomes; conducting training and professional development for lecturers on building, developing, and implementing output-based training programs; standardizing service quality assessment activities and collecting feedback. Simultaneously, the university has implemented many policies to attract high-quality human resources and carried out human resource management based on work results.

Sharing this joy, Dr. Tran Ai Cam – Rector of Nguyen Tat Thanh University – said that among the 8 accredited training programs, the undergraduate Piano program and the Master’s program in Drug and Toxicology Testing are the first two programs in Vietnam to achieve accreditation according to Circular 04.

Five undergraduate and three master’s degree programs have achieved accreditation.

To date, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has completed domestic and regional quality accreditation for 60 training programs, including 7 programs that have completed the second cycle. In addition, the University has achieved educational institution quality accreditation (cycle 2) according to Circular 12/2017 with a rate of 97%; and 11 training programs have received star ratings according to UPM.

Looking ahead, the University clearly recognizes that the Vietnamese education sector is entering a new phase of development. The draft revised Law on Higher Education (2025) presents many new opportunities and challenges for higher education institutions, particularly impacting the work of ensuring and accrediting the quality of higher education. Dr. Cam emphasized that quality assurance based on the draft Law on Higher Education 2025 will undergo many changes, with particular attention paid to the internal quality assurance system. This internal quality assurance system is the solid foundation for self-assessment, assessment/accreditation of higher education quality, as well as ranking higher education institutions and training programs. This requires that quality assurance at Nguyen Tat Thanh University proactively approach and update its practices, alongside developing appropriate strategies, plans for quality assurance and accreditation, and improvement plans. In addition to reviewing training program design, ensuring resources and facilities, training programs need to focus on monitoring and evaluating the impact of the training program and ranking the industry.

Over the past 26 years, in addition to continuously improving training programs to align with accreditation standards, integrate with international training quality, and enhance the practical aspects of training, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has also successfully developed an internal set of standards for evaluating training programs. Furthermore, building a quality assurance and accreditation system for educational institutions and training programs through reputable domestic and international accreditation bodies is a long-term strategy of the University. The development strategy of Nguyen Tat Thanh University for the period 2020-2025, with a vision to 2035, includes the strategic goal of “Affirming the University’s position domestically, regionally, and internationally through star rating, ranking, and quality benchmarking.”
