Outstanding presentation on Corporate Social Responsibility
Representing the Department of Digital Economics, Dr. Bui Van Thoi – Deputy Head of the Faculty of Business Administration and Head of the Department of Digital Economics – presented an important research paper entitled “The Impact of Corporate Social Responsibility on Sustainable Firm Performance: A Case Study of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Manufacturing Enterprises in Vietnam”.

The research, conducted by Dr. Bui Van Thoi and Ms. Huynh Le Truc Giang from the Center for Dormitory Services and Management, has attracted significant attention from the international academic community.

Valuable scientific contributions
The study developed a theoretical model of the impact of corporate social responsibility on sustainable business performance through two mediating factors: green innovation and corporate image. Based on a survey of 307 leaders of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) businesses in Vietnam and analysis using SEM (Systematic Exploration Modeling) software (SMARTPLS4), the study yielded the following important conclusions:

Key findings:
- Corporate social responsibility has a positive impact on the sustainable development of businesses through the mediating role of green innovation and corporate image.
- Vietnamese FMCG businesses actively fulfilling their social responsibilities not only bring economic, social, and environmental benefits but also contribute to enhancing sustainable business performance.
- The study suggests that businesses implement social responsibility according to Carroll’s model at four levels: economic responsibility, legal responsibility, ethical responsibility, and philanthropic responsibility.
Practical and academic significance
In the context of fast-moving consumer goods businesses facing numerous challenges, especially increasingly fierce competition, this study has highlighted the crucial role of corporate social responsibility in enhancing corporate image, creating a competitive advantage, and making positive contributions to the community.
The unique value of this research lies in establishing a link between corporate social responsibility and sustainable business performance through a new perspective on green innovation and building a positive corporate image. Simultaneously, the research provides practical management implications, helping Vietnamese businesses orient their sustainable development strategies for the future.
World-class academic environment
The ICFBP 2025 conference created a vibrant academic forum with the participation of many leading professors and experts from around the world. Parallel sessions were held around four main themes: Resilience, Leadership & Organizational Flexibility; Sustainability & Green Transformation; Digital Innovation & Technology Application; Consumer Behavior, Marketing & Other Issues.
Dr. Bui Van Thoi’s presence and contributions at the conference are not only a source of pride for the Department of Digital Economics, Faculty of Business Administration, but also affirm the increasingly solid position of Nguyen Tat Thanh University on the international research map.
Looking towards the future
The success of the presentation at ICFBP 2025 is a testament to the continuous research efforts of the faculty members of the Faculty of Business Administration. It also serves as motivation for the Department of Digital Economics to continue developing valuable research, contributing to the body of knowledge on sustainable business and digital transformation in Vietnam.
We believe that research like this will continue to open up more opportunities for international cooperation, improve the quality of training and research, and create practical value for the business community and society.
