Many training fields at Nguyen Tat Thanh University have made breakthroughs in the international academic system

NTTU – Recently, the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) organization announced the 2025 world university rankings by academic field, in which Nguyen Tat Thanh University was ranked in 7 academic fields.

In 2025, URAP ranked universities worldwide in 78 academic fields, using six key indicators: publications (21%), citations (10%), literature (21%), publication impact (18%), citation impact (15%), and international collaboration (15%).

This year, Nguyen Tat Thanh University continues to make its mark by participating in many fields and showing significant improvement in its ranking compared to last year.

In the field of  Environmental Engineering , URAP ranks 750 universities globally, with 3 Vietnamese institutions included, a decrease of 2 compared to 2024. Nguyen Tat Thanh University impressively ranked  3rd in Vietnam  and  422nd globally , an increase  of 60 places  compared to 2024.

This year, the Medical and Health Sciences sector   has 2,000 institutions ranked globally. Vietnam has 5 representatives, with Nguyen Tat Thanh University continuing to maintain  its 3rd ranking domestically and simultaneously rising to the top  1,000+ globally , an improvement from  its 1,100+ ranking  last year.

In the field of  Technology , out of a total of 1,500 universities evaluated, Vietnam has 5 universities included in the ranking. Nguyen Tat Thanh University ranks  4th in Vietnam  and  967th globally , a significant improvement compared to its position in the  1,000+ range  in 2024.

In the field of  Environmental Sciences , Nguyen Tat Thanh University continues to make its mark by ranking among  the top 3 universities in Vietnam  and  598th in the world  out of 1,000 institutions, an increase of  47 places  compared to the previous year.

This year, the Engineering field   has 1,499 universities ranked globally. In Vietnam, nine universities are included, with Nguyen Tat Thanh University ranking  6th in the country  and  985th worldwide .

Notably, in the field of  Chemical Sciences , Nguyen Tat Thanh University also ranked  3rd in Vietnam  and  932nd globally  out of 1,500 universities, a significant improvement compared to its ranking of over  1,000  in 2024.

Notably, this year Nguyen Tat Thanh University was ranked for the first time in the field of  Chemical Engineering . Out of a total of 1,000 universities worldwide evaluated, three Vietnamese institutions received this recognition. Nguyen Tat Thanh University ranked  3rd in Vietnam  and  789th globally , marking a significant step forward in the university’s orientation towards developing in-depth research.

Sharing this joy, Dr. Tran Ai Cam – Rector of Nguyen Tat Thanh University – said that the university’s continuous ranking in many fields and its ongoing improvement in international rankings such as URAP is the result of comprehensive innovation, systematic investment, and a sustainable development strategy that the university has steadfastly pursued over the years. In particular, the first-ever recognition in the field of Chemical Engineering shows that the direction of expanding interdisciplinary research and enhancing the scientific and technological capacity of the faculty and staff is on the right track. This also serves as motivation for the university to continue improving the quality of education and integrating more deeply with the global higher education system.

Previously, in March 2025, URAP also published the 2025 world university rankings by academic achievement for 3,000 universities. In Vietnam, 22 universities were ranked, a decrease of 1 university compared to 2024. On the world ranking, Nguyen Tat Thanh University ranked 1,014th out of 3,000 universities, and also ranked 4th in Vietnam.

The URAP world university rankings by academic achievement were published in March 2025.

The university rankings by URAP are also based on six indicators, with the Citations indicator scoring the highest at 68.11 points. This is followed by the Publication Impact indicator at 56.78 points; the Citation Impact indicator at 48.14 points; and the remaining indicators recording scores ranging from 21.28 to 37.88 points.

Over the years, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has consistently been highly rated in numerous rankings such as QS Asia University Rankings, THE Impact Rankings, Webometrics, SCImago Institutions Rankings, etc. Nguyen Tat Thanh University understands that innovation is crucial for development and meeting the demands of society and mass education. In recent years, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has undertaken fundamental and comprehensive reforms in education and training, especially in the new era.
